    Training Week 1

Rim to Rim Training Week 1 . This was the kickoff week. My goal this week was to get my butt to the gym and get acclimated to this gym and all the equipment. Honestly, I wasn’t looking forward to it, but once I got there, I got into a groove and it was okay.

The gym I go to is very small which is a good thing. Most of the members are normal people on a fitness journey just like me. One of the exercises on my training plan was the leg press.  I couldn’t figure out how to operate that machine! I knew I had to ask someone for help, so I approached the only person in the area.

What a nice guy who helped me! He was so nice and helped me no questions asked, although he was pretty fit and I’m wondering what he must have been thinking to himself. But he was fantastic. Got me set up with that machine, and I was well on my way. And I woke up, the day after thinking I’d be really sore, and I wasn’t that sore, so that was very encouraging.

So that’s it, for week one. We’ll see what week two brings. And in terms of mileage, I have clocked 16 miles. And it goes up from here. So we’ll see how it goes. Until next week.
